Our portal through Evermore

Yesterday, I walked through Evermore for the final time.  Oh the memories! From our first visit in October 2018 to our final walk through seven years later.

 So much has changed.
From my first visit I loved this little building. The Copper Confectionary

It was the perfect fairy godmothers cottage.  If I could have chosen any building to live in at Evermore, it would have been this one.

I still wish there was a way to move it.  I have room on my property in Springville for it.  But moving a stone building probably isn't feasable.
The glass animal house housed Evermores bird and animal show.
We loved the talented staff and their creatures.  They often visited us in our vending booth.

The Tavern - Honestly this building was our inspiration for our gaming tavern at We Geek Together.

When Evermore closed many of it's fixtures were looted.  On our tour I mentioned how someone had taken the statues and a lady said, 'Oh yes, they are at my friends house.'  I've heard many of the park employees and builders carted off items in leiu of payments they never received.

Although many of the real headstones brought over from England and this cursed statue are still there.

This fountain was damaged shortly after I took this picture, when the park opened.  It was never really repaired and that was the one and only time I did see the fountain working.

The Burrow  - The Hobbit like dwelling of the musical dwarfs Lani and Turno
Evermore was such a draw for our family.  We went all the time starting in October of 2018.  During the summer of 2020 we were the second vendor to be able to sell products there.  In taking this trip down memory lane, our booth underwent many changes.
From a Walmart pop-up, to being housed in one of the pavilions.
To moving into a tent with our future partner 'Sea Dragon Cove,'

To finally being approved to build our our semi-permanent structure merely feet from the very first spot we ever vended from.
...to...

We kept this home built in May of 2023 until Evermore closed December 31st of the same year.    We were given a couple days in April of 24 to sell and remove it.
A couple of scoops and some barrels sit where we made some wonderful memories.  Each and every member of our family helped with our booth at Evermore.  We were the Original 'We Geek Together' the Ashbys. Andrew the 3-D game Printer, Trevor the Wand maker, Everett the Leather maker, Lillian the rune carver and wire tree bender, Esther the candle procurer, Emma the sticker artist and Erik the Pirate and Me.
Andy created the Maker's Guild program that all the other merchants contributed to.  Esther, Lillian, and Emma helped with free leather crafts for patrons walking through.

Trevor and Erik helped run games of Liar's Dice
And Everett was our chief leather armor maker
'We Geek Together' started with us, and by the time Evermore closed it had grown to include 2 more families.  There are now two stores and a full time Event's team, but the original Ashby's are no longer with it except Andrew, Everett and Erik.
So saying goodby to Evermore yesterday did bring some tears.  So thankful for that one moment in time when as a whole family we were planning, dreaming, creating, selling and making wonderful memories together.
