I decided to take a field trip with my girls today and we decided to make a day trip and visit the tulip fields near Mt. Vernon, WA.
I would definitely put this on a list of things to do in ones’ lifetime, provided you go when the tulips are blooming of course.
I think we got a good day. It was mostly cloudy with a tiny sun-break right at the end of our trip.
Here's Hope, Lea, and Princess pretending to fly over the field. If I wasn't so deathly afraid of planes it might be an awesome way to view the flower fields.
Hope was of course babbling nonstop, ‘Oooo, brew-tee-full flowers, Pretty, Ohhhh, Uggy, Disgusting (Yes, she pronounces that one correctly) Mud!’
I think we had to keep our eyes on the path more than on the flowers to avoid all the puddles.
What better way to tempt fate in a muddy tulip field than to dress the girls all in white. Hummm?
Princess was devastated when she accidently slipped. It took me five minutes to get her to stop crying. I finally had to tell her about the time her older brother went to the fields and slipped and did a belly-flop into the closest puddle to the car less than 30 seconds after we had arrived. He was around 3 years old and I had not packed any spare clothes so he had to walk around all day in muddy over-alls. I thought she had done wonderful because I got off around 80 pictures before her little mis-step. That and I think she still looked beautiful even with the mud.
To my surprise the only one to stay spot free was Hope.
The only downside to visiting the Tulips is coming home and seeing all your weeds. At least Hope still looks cute.

I don't think we have anything like that around my area in PA. The girls look so pretty in their white dresses surrounded by God's beautiful flowers!

Wow - all 3 in white dresses - you show-off! How in the world did you pull that off?
Thanks for sharing the beauty you see through the pictures you take. I loved the girls dressed in white. I love their simple beauty, and the innocence of children and the fact that you can capture it and share it. It is a gift that will bless your family forever.

Hum, three girls in white dresses? How did I pull it off.
For one, it was only the second time they had ever wore the dresses. And two... I believe in bleach and lots of it.
