Once upon a time one blessed mommy had a very happy and beautiful son named Abner. He had such wise old soul he knew how to be happy from his very first moments on Earth. Abner was her first baby and she treasured him from the moment she felt him inside her. This mommy could feel with every fiber of her being that Abner was a very special spirit.
And before you knew it the mommy was chasing the little boy around fields of imaginations.
Taking him for adventures in lands of pioneers, magic, space and oceans.
And he was taking her on adventures of his own too. They often would visit pirate ships and have sword or saber fights.
Soon it was evident that the little boys wise old soul was beyond anything she thought possible. He even taught himself to play chess at four years old, by watching his Pompa and Princely Dad play.
Then before she knew it she was crying as her little blue-eyed boy went to school and she could no longer play the day with him.
and the mom blinked and before she knew what had happened her snuggly little boy had grown…
and grown…
and grown….
so tall that he didn’t quite fit inside his mother’s arms…
well kind of didn’t fit.
Dear sweet little boy Abner. Your mommy is so proud of you as you graduate High School and can’t wait to see what direction you take as you begin this next grand adventure in your life.
Love you, my sweet pirate, wise soul of a son!
Your Mommy,
Fawndear

Wow, time does fly! Not too long ago I used to give him cracked wheat so he could be fast! He wasn't even waist high at the time was he?
Congratulations! My oldest just graduated also. It's a good feeling, isn't it?
Oh, love this post! Congratulations! What a great kid!
I can't believe you can hold him!

Congratulations to your son and you. What a great accomplishment to see your son graduate. I know your proud.
Ohhh, Erik was talking about the picture of you holding him at lunch today, I was hoping there'd be a blog to follow!
Congratulations!
He also mentioned that it's not just that you were able to hold him, but that you were able to hold the pose while he fiddled with the flash. You've got some serious arms going!
What a fun poem and sweet tribute! Hard to believe how quickly they grow up! My son graduated last year and just turned 19! Sniff, sniff.
Congratulations! I bet he'll fly far--what fun pictures:)
